- Want to remodel the kitchen from top to bottom? Need to learn a new language without interruption? Want to start a fruit and vegetable garden?
- Having alone time means that you can start or finish anything you’ve been setting to the side because of outside influences.
2. Set a goal and attain it. Now, that you have no distractions, take some time to set one or two goals. Make a list of the steps you’ll need to follow, so you can achieve completion of each goal. As you get done with the steps, mark them off one by one to see your progress. When you accomplish said goal, make sure to celebrate your wins, no matter how big or small they may be.
- You have the power and time to make your dreams come to fruition.
3. Think of something that interest you. Perhaps you’ve had a desire to take part in a particular activity that appeals to you. There’s nothing stopping you from going for it. At least, make a call to inquire about watching or actually get hands-on training with a class. Being alone in this venture means you don’t have to worry about if someone makes fun of you. However, you do have to be your own hype man and keep the momentum going so you don’t give up.
4. Find out more. Researching will certainly broaden your horizons and make you a much more fascinating person. Research topics you love or try a new interest. The more you know about a topic, the more you expand your worldview and thought process. Be excited about learning something new, so you can have something to look forward to while exploring.
- If doing online research isn’t quite up your ally, try going to the library and reading up on subjects you can get lost in while enjoying your quiet time at home. Not interested in reading? No worries, do a movie search on the topic and have a day of movie watching to educate yourself through cinema.
5. Workout. If you’re alone and have a great deal of time on your hands, you can use that time to get in the best shape you’ve ever been. Decide on a workout plan, block out the time to get it done, and follow through. Having extra alone-time means you can create the life of your dreams and put it in motion without anyone else talking you out of it.
7. Be good at something. Nothing makes us feel better than knowing we have mastered something really well, that no one knows nothing about. Just to see the look on their face when you present your talent is worth the practice it takes to do it with ease.

You can go on weekend getaways by yourself. Send yourself flowers to be delivered at your office or home. Take yourself out to a private dinner. You can even spend the day at the spa spoiling yourself. Whatever it is you enjoy doing, do it because you’re worth it.
Being alone is the one gift you can give yourself over and over. When you experience a breakup, think of it as a blessing. You now get to rediscover the parts of you that got lost or took a backseat to your last partner’s needs or wants. Cook the food you miss eating because they didn’t like it.
